Let's keep our neighborhood reading!
Adopting a book is a very special way to:
· celebrate a birth, anniversary, good report card, graduation or other special event
· encourage students to continue reading by buying books they love
· make a Tax Exempt contribution in 2016
Adult Book: $20 donation
Youth Services Book: $15 donation (Hardcover) $10 (Paperback)
Youth Services Series Supporter: $10 - $200
The Library’s “Adopt-A-Book” program makes it easy. Simply choose to donate an adult or youth services book or choose to support a one year continuation of one of our many popular Youth Services Series books or nonfiction sets. To adopt your book, just donate the price above or listed in red on the Collection Wish List.
A personalized bookplate will be mounted in your book(s) upon arrival at the library. Thanks to your donation, you can be the very first person to check the book out! A copy of the customized bookplate, along with a receipt acknowledging your donation will also be given to you.
Your “book adoption” will make a unique gift to the community, while expanding the Library’s book collection. As always, contributions to the Friends of the Northfield Library are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.
The “Adopt-A-Book Program” is a co-operative project with the Friends of the Northfield Public Library, which creates the bookplates and administers the program. Stop at the Main Desk to give a gift of lasting value, the gift of a book.
Why is the library doing an Adopt a Book Program?
Library’s funding is based on a percentage of Northfield’s municipal taxes. Due to the lower tax base in 2016, the library’s budget has been reduced proportionally. By requesting support from residents, the library is increasing the amount of reading material available to the community.
“I already read all of those!” Unfortunately, we hear this from adults as well as students looking through new arrivals for the next installment in their favorite series. Let’s chip in to keep our neighborhood reading!
